Shaping the future of NSW transport

Locals in the South East and Tablelands communities are providing feedback on a draft blueprint for the region’s future road and transport network.

The New South Wales Government is rolling out Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plans (SRITP) to meet the evolving transport needs of regional communities and guide future government investment decision making.

Transport for NSW Regional Director South, Cassandra Ffrench, said that more than 700 online survey responses have been received so far on the draft South East and Tablelands SRITP, which will remain open for feedback until Friday 28 February.

“Access to transport for all and a safe transport network are understandably the most important plan objectives to survey respondents so far,” Ms Ffrench said.

“The most important improvements to respondents include public transport availability and frequency, safer roads, road condition, and walking paths and trails.”

Ms Ffrench said there are many options available to provide feedback and all of it will help shape the final plan.

“If you live or work in the region, or visit there, I encourage you to make the most of this opportunity and let us know your thoughts on, and experiences with, transport infrastructure and services.

“We will also be out in the region at planned community events during February to talk to the community about the draft plan, what it means, and how to provide feedback.”

Some of the events where communities can chat to Transport for NSW about road safety and the draft SRITP include:

  • Thursday 6 February – Bong Bong Street Bowral promoting pedestrian safety and gaining insights into the recently installed 40km/h High Pedestrian Activity speed zone
  • Saturday 8 February – Snowies Mountain Bike Festival to promote bicycle safety
  • Thursday 20 February – Coffee with a Cop, Eden. Enjoy a complementary refreshment and discuss safe rider and driver behaviour with Transport for NSW and NSW Police
  • Saturday 22 February – Crookwell Car Show to discuss the risks of speeding on rural roads with local community

The online survey is available at South East and Tablelands Survey | Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plans | Have Your Say. Feedback closes on Friday 28 February 2025.
