ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 6000-2024 Now Available


MOKENA, IL — ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 6000-2024, the Professional Qualifications Standard for Medical Gas Systems Personnel, has been designated as an American National Standard by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and is now available for purchase. This new edition of the ASSE Series 6000 builds on the 2021 version and includes key updates, including the addition of Standard 6070 for Medical Gas Systems Design Instructors.

The 2024 edition of ASSE Series 6000 continues to align with the medical gas-related requirements of NFPA 99-2024, Health Care Facilities Code, while incorporating important revisions and additions to reflect ongoing advancements in the industry. The updated standard addresses the minimum qualifications for professionals working with medical gas systems, including installers, inspectors, verifiers, maintenance personnel, instructors, designers, and now design instructors.

A notable inclusion in the 2024 edition is the introduction of Standard 6070 for Medical Gas Systems Design Instructors. This standard outlines the qualifications required for those teaching the design of medical gas systems, ensuring instructors possess the necessary expertise and experience to effectively educate future designers in the medical gas field.
