ED attaches Rs 44 crore assets of builder Lalit Tekchandani, including Dubai villa, ET RealEstate

MUMBAI: Assets worth Rs 44 crore belonging to arrested builder Lalit Tekchandani and associates have been attached by ED in a money-laundering case probe.
The attached properties include a villa in Dubai, residential and commercial properties in Mumbai, land parcels in Pune, and fixed deposits. Previously, ED had frozen and seized investment worth Rs 158 crore in the same case.
ED will communicate to Dubai authorities via legal channels, informing them of details of attached villa and requesting not to allow sale of the property.
The builder with political links faced legal trouble two years ago when home buyers filed fraud complaints.
